Another god exists that came before Amus. He is thought and consciousness. He lives in the void and has never come forth into the ether nor the world. He touches the world through shadow and incorporeal illusions. He affects the mind and drives those that seek him to insanity. He is known by the Ealintaine but not by name. Only Amus knows his true name. She calls him Edur. It was his thought of the Ether that gave life to Amus, and when she was conceived, so to was the Ether.

Outside of the the Empire of Leyrtis, the disciples of Edur are few and remain quiet. They would claim that he created the Ether, not Amus, and that he sets all things in motion. He existed in the beginning and will endure to the end of time.
