Falling Unconscious
The rules as written on p.197 of the PHB are amended to include the following:
- Each time a PC regains any hit points and loses the Unconscious condition, they receive one level of exhaustion.
Death Saving Throws
The rules as written on p.197 of the PHB are amended to include the following:
- Each time a PC falls unconscious, they start with a number of failed death saves equal to their Exhaustion level.
The rules as written on p.197 regarding Damage at 0 Hit Points is removed in their entirety and replaced with the following:
- Damage at 0 Hit Points. If a character takes any damage when the character is at 0 hit points, they suffer a death saving throw failure. If the damage is equals or exceeds 1/2 of their maximum hit points, they suffer 2 death saving throw failures instead. If the damage equals or exceeds their maximum hit points, they suffer instant death.
